About · A systems Manufaktur
Most software is rented furniture. We make yours.
binary-punks is the workshop name of Andreas Kaiser Systemmanufaktur — a small team in Willich that builds made-to-measure systems. No off-the-shelf packages. No black boxes you can't open. Just software, hosting and tooling cut to your real need, and owned by you.
A small workshop, by design.
We've spent decades shipping software across enterprise platforms, languages and frameworks — and we kept the parts that matter while leaving behind the parts that don't. No layers of account management between you and the people writing the code. When you talk to binary-punks, you talk to the engineers.
The name Systemmanufaktur is a promise, not a flourish. A Manufaktur makes things to measure, by hand, with care for the join you'll never see. That's how we approach every engagement — consulting, custom software, hosting and AI tooling alike. We size the work to the need, not to a price tier.
And we don't just deliver and disappear. Where it's the right call, we self-enable your team — handing over the workflows, the tooling and the know-how so you can run it yourselves.
What we do
Four stages, one standard.
Made-to-measure across the board — from first advice to the system that runs in production. See how we work →
Advise
Architecture & tech strategy, dev/ops & AI-workflow advisory, CI / quality-gate setup.
Build
Web apps, internal tools, APIs & data pipelines — plus modernization & migration.
Run
Hosting & operations — microservices, failover, observability, backups with tested restores.
Enable
Hand over workflows, tooling and training — self-enablement on request. No lock-in.
How we work
Proof over promises.
Anyone can claim attention to detail. We'd rather show you the decisions most shops get wrong.
We didn't forget the cookie banner. We don't need one.
We set no non-essential cookies and run no third-party tracking — so under GDPR and ePrivacy there's nothing to consent to. The missing banner isn't an oversight; it's the thesis. Privacy by architecture, not by pop-up.
Right-sized, never up-sold
We recommend the smallest thing that solves the problem — even when a bigger one would bill more.
No black boxes
You get the source, the infra-as-code and the runbook. Nothing about your system is hostage to us.
Talk to the engineers
No account-management layer. The people who build it are the people you brief and the people you call.
Self-enablement on request
Want to run it in-house? We hand over the workflows and tooling and teach your team to own it.

Workload hosting
Built to stay up.
From a single static page to dozens of microservices with redundancy and failover — your isolation tier is your choice, not a default.
Dozens of microservices
Orchestrated, health-checked and independently deployable — not one fragile monolith on one box.
Redundancy & failover
No single point of failure. Services self-heal and reroute before most users notice a thing.
Scaled to the load
Horizontal scaling and load balancing tuned to your actual traffic — you pay for the workload, not a tier.
Observability built in
Metrics, logs and alerting from day one. We see problems coming before they reach you.
Tested restores
Backups are table stakes; we rehearse the restore. A backup you have never restored isn't a backup.
Hardened by default
HTTPS-only, HSTS, sane headers and least-privilege access — security isn't an upgrade.
Static sites on our fast pipes — cached at the edge, nothing to exploit.
WordPress + MySQL on a shared, managed database — efficient for most.
A separate database module for customers who need tighter isolation.
Microservices, redundancy and failover — architected to your spec.
Receipts
We hold ourselves to it — and we'll prove it.
Attention to every detail isn't a slogan here; it's a gate. This page is measured against the standard we'd hold yours to — and we publish the numbers only once CI has verified them against the live domain. Until then, these are the targets, not trophies.
Let's build yours.
Tell us what you're trying to do. We'll tell you the smallest thing that solves it — and what it'll really take.
